Compassionate Eating Disorder Recovery Experts

We believe in finding recovery from eating disorders and disordered eating.

We represent life after an eating disorder with lived experiences and navigating our world in recovered bodies. It is our dream to help other humans achieve food freedom and to take back their lives.

It’s time to meet your specialists

Meet Karri (she/her)

Karri spent many years trapped in an eating disorder that kept her body and her life small.

She lived with the shame that came with the symptoms and kept this part of her life completely hidden from everyone. Karri wasn’t able to completely step into a full life until she found her way out of harm through recovery. She learned the tools to no longer punish herself with & without food and how to integrate body acceptance as her healing came with a larger body. If you ask Karri to describe the outcome of recovery, it’s like someone turns the lights on and you see everything in technicolour. Her mission is to now help others find their own path to healing their relationship with food, body and themselves.

  • Most people express being really nervous to sit with a nutritionist, know that this will be a completely different experience than you expect. Karri provides a comfortable, relaxed and supportive vibe for you in your sessions (swearing is allowed and encouraged!). She has spent years helping others feel heard, seen and validated. Her clients call her relatable and approachable with a sprinkling of “cheesy” mantras. Karri enjoys working with all ages and believes that trust and connection are key in this work. She listens and truly cares about the clients she supports. Karri has walked this path and understands what it is like to navigate the process of recovery through lived experience and also through helping support many clients on their own journey.

  • Karri now calls Southwestern Ontario home but spent her childhood mainly in Alberta. She is a huge Edmonton Oilers fan, retired hockey Mom and lover of anything to do with being on or near the water (kayaking is her fave!). When not in the office, you can find Karri with her blended family which includes her son, two bonus kiddos, chocolate labrador Kingston and her hubby. Karri attributes ultimately finding happiness to her own healing. She has been in therapy of her own for many years which she fully believes in. Karri is passionate about all things nervous system, how it relates to our relationship with food & body and brings this into her work at the centre through helping others cultivate somatic awareness. Her approach goes way beyond the food and helps others build the safety to come home to their body.

Karri’s advice to someone new in recovery…

Although it may be the hardest thing to do, say yes. Lean in and trust & surrender to the process of recovery. Your life can be full and thriving beyond the ED!

Meet Rachel (she/her)

Rachel self-identifies as plus-sized with lived experience of an eating disorder.

She has been trapped in the binge-restrict cycle and knows firsthand what it’s like to feel out of control and to no longer recognize your body. With the help of therapy, she found her path to recovery and discovered a passion for helping humans along the way. Now on the other side of her eating disorder, she wants to dedicate her life to supporting others in finding food freedom and repairing their relationship with eating. Rachel believes clients are the experts on themselves & meeting them where they are at. Rachel wants clients to show up to sessions as they are: don’t feel the need to get dressed up, or dress up any of the things you may disclose in sessions. Rachel believes in authenticity, vulnerability and getting your ass kicked in the arena (see: Brene Brown’s work).

  • Rachel is a highly-sensitive person and an empath which gives her a unique perspective when working with clients. Her goal is to create a warm and inviting space where clients feel like they are chatting with a friend about their struggles. She believes showcasing both vulnerability and empathy as a way to connect deeply with clients. Rachel continues to “do the work” with her own therapist to ensure her mental health and emotional needs are well taken care of so she can show up as the best version of herself for her beloved clients.

  • Rachel was married to her favourite human in her parents’ backyard with their English Springer Spaniel, Arthur in 2021. She is the proud owner of a dark-bay Thoroughbred named Rosalie who lives just 10 minutes away. Her favourite past-time is baking from scratch or reading a book while Rosie munches on some hay. With plans to grow their family, Rachel hopes to provide continued lived experience as a plus-sized, anti-diet person navigating fertility, pregnancy and beyond.
